Description
EQUULEUS means “little horse” or “foal” in Latin. According to Greek mythology, this small and faint constellation is mostly associated with Hippe, the daughter of centaur Chiron and nymph Chariclo. It was first catalogued by astronomer Claudius Ptolemy in the 2nd century and its brightest star is called Kitalpha, from the Arabic for “part of the horse”.
