Description
LYNX was named after the wild feline and this relatively faint constellation is not associated with any myths. Lynx was introduced by Polish astronomer Johannes Hevelius in the 17th century and he wrote in his book he chose to name the group of stars after this animal because only those who had the sight of a lynx could see it. Alpha Lyncis is the name of its brightest star.
